Caribbean Carnival Barbecue

Next week, the 21st of July, the LINC4-5 Class will have a field trip. We'll attend a Caribbean Carnival Barbecue and enjoy music, dances and foods from this region of the world. One can remark that Caribbean people are famous for love songs like Zouk music and Salsa that I like so much. I was very happy when Joseph, our teacher, said this morning that it's possible to come with our friends and family members. Actually, I have some friends who would like to come with us to this party. I'm gonna ask them and hope they'll be free on that day. The more, the merrier. So, I hope that many of my classmates will come. I'm sure that we'll have fun because a Caribbean Barbecue is rarely a boring party.

Theo's presentation

Today, the 11th of July, I made a presentation on microcredit. I chose this topic because it is something that I deal with all the time as PhD student. My area of study is Social and Solidarity Economics. The other main concepts concerning my research are microinsurance (health care insurance for the poor) and social protection. I wanted to share with my classmates those concepts which occupy roughly 90% of my brain. You can understand why I was so surprised that none of them had never heard about microfinance. I tried to explain it. I seems like they understand it but I'm not sure. The presentation took about 10 minutes; I think that it wasn't enough to make this huge concept clear for people who didn't know anything about it before.
